F12 restaurant is owned by Melker Andersson and Danyel Couet. They have worked together since 1994. One year later they competed, and won silver, in Bocuse d´Or, the worlds most prestigious competition for chefs.

Melker Andersson: “I started as a cook because it was easy to get a job in the Alps, I wanted to ski, but I ended up in Umeå at restaurant Viktor, where my cooking interest was woken and since then I´m hooked. To be cooking at a restaurant is pulse, speed and playfullness, it can´t get to serious , then it becomes boring.”

Danyel Couet: ”My dad is an artist and when I was young I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I started an education that could have led me to a job as an illustrator or graphic designer. But as a poor student I needed some extra cash. Restaurant Edsbacka wasn´t to far from home so I started to work in the kitchen there. And soon I realized that I could use my creativity in a restaurant kitchen aswell.”
